WICHITA FALLS, Texas (AP) — A North Texas father has pleaded guilty in a 2015 murder-for-hire plot that targeted his daughter's boyfriend.

The Wichita Falls Times Record News reports 59-year-old Jeffrey Bryan Peyton is expected to be sentenced to 22 years in prison March 3.

Peyton named his wife Christina as his accomplice.

According to court documents, a witness told police he was approached by Peyton and his wife for help in finding someone to "take out" their daughter's boyfriend.

An officer later posed as someone who could find a hit man for the couple.

Peyton told the undercover officer he would pay $300 up front and another $200 when the hit was completed.

Police say the boyfriend helped investigators by posing in a photograph as if he had been fatally shot.
