A traffic stop in the Texas Panhandle yielded the seizure of a hefty amount of methamphetamine.

Just after 12:35 p.m. Saturday, a Texas DPS trooper stopped a 2004 Honda Civic traveling eastbound on Interstate 40, near Conway in Carson County.

During a search of the vehicle, the trooper found more than 10 pounds of meth in the trunk, valued at more than $386,000.

The driver of the Civic was identified as 39-year-old Roberto Fernandez Jr., of Yuma, Arizona. Fernandez was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, which in this case, is a first-degree felony.

The drugs were reportedly being transported from Yuma, Arizona to Des Moines, Iowa.
