An attempted traffic stop in Ector County resulted in a chase and the eventual seizure of over $2 million worth of marijuana.

A Texas DPS officer noticed a pickup truck with an unsecured load driving on the shoulder lane on IH-20 in West Odessa. When the officer tried to pull the truck over, the driver fled.

Eventually, the driver's vehicle got stuck in mud near FM 1936 and 3rd Street. The driver escaped from the vehicle and evaded arrest.

When DPS officers secured the vehicle, they discovered 377 pounds of marijuana. The estimated value of the marijuana is $2,288,013.

The DPS is asking anyone with information regarding the vehicle or driver to contact the DPS Odessa Texas Highway Patrol.
