Friday on The Chad Hasty Show, Patrick Svitek from the Texas Tribune joined the show to talk about the latest in news and politics around the nation and in Texas.

Hasty and Svitek discussed President Trump's roll-back of Barack Obama's directive to public schools on bathroom use of transgender students, the many different indicators of changes in the Texas political landscape, the Texas "bathroom bill", and the debate about a possible "bullet train" being built between Dallas and Houston.

While discussing the heated debate over the train, Svitek said,

It's urban versus rural in many ways, and it illustrates the growing tension we've seen demographically, politically and just geographically in Texas between the fast growing urban areas and the less fast growing rural areas.
