One of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s top deputies has resigned after comments he made on Facebook.

In a Facebook post since removed, Leonie reportedly called claims by unspecified Me Too victims “pathetic”. He also said, “If every woman is a victim, so is every man.”

Paxton spokesman Mark Rylander says the views Leonie expressed on social media do not reflect the value of Paxton’s office.

According to reports, Leonie’s resignation was effective immediately yesterday afternoon. He had worked in the attorney general’s office since 2004 and was appointed as associate deputy attorney general in 2015.
