Vikram Baliga, and Russell Wallace, with the Lubbock branch of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will hold a day-long conference for local growers in April.

The Small Farm and Local Foods Conference will be held Saturday, April 2, at AgriLife Extension Center at 1102 East FM 1294 in Lubbock. The cost is $35 per person. The conference will run all-day from 8am to 5pm, with lunch provided.

Vik and Russell will discuss the challenges of being a local grower in your backyard, or even a small farmer. Some of the topics to be covered include: Working with Farmers' Markets, Food Safety, Building Healthy Soil and Reducing Financial Risk.
