Tuesday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin Terri Stahl joined Dave and Matt to talk about the upcoming 8th annual Chicken Fried Steak Festival.

The event starts on Friday, April 27th with the chicken fried steak dinner from 5:30-8:30 that will be catered by Riversmiths. Bobby G. Gonzales and the Galaxy Band will play from 7:30-8, followed by David Lee Garza who will perform until midnight. Also starting on 6 on Friday will be the 2nd annual softball tournament, which still has some slots open for any softball teams that want to join.

Starting on Saturday morning is the hot air balloon event, as well as the opening of vendor booths at 9:00, a 5K run/walk at 9, and team roping at 10. Also at 10:00 is the start of the chicken fried steak cook off competition, as well as the classic car show sponsored by O'reilly. There will also be a mini zoo featuring zebras, kangaroos, and camels, a bouncy castle, a pony ride, and face painting. And finally a wine tasting event from 4-7.

The event takes place Friday, April 27th and Saturday, April 28th at the Forest Park 814 S. Houston in Lamesa, Texas. Admission and parking are free, and procedes from the event will go towards Lamesa Fire and Rescue.
