Some Texas Tech students are getting together to help improve the Lubbock-area Salvation Army.

Around 150 students will get together on Tech-Lubbock Community Day this Saturday to paint the Salvation Army’s shelter dining room and offices, weed and plant flowers around the facilities, reorganize the thrift store, and more, in addition to doing some demolition work to prepare an existing building for renovations to house more people.

The Tech-Lubbock Community Day event is now planned to become an annual tradition.
