Pollan, a professor of journalism at the University of California, Berkeley, has written four bestselling books, and has been named as one of Time Magazine’s top 100 most influential people.

Monte Akers, Rick Dingus, and Michael Ventura will attend the 2011 Texas Book Festival on Saturday and Sunday.
Taylor Eighmy, vice president for research at Texas Tech said “While progress has been made, this second accident just further reinforces the importance of changing the culture of laboratory safety at the university. We have a lot of work to still do.”
Delia Tibbs, health educator for Student Health Services discussed the event, saying “We want to show that drinking is not the only way to have fun, and at Texas Tech, we have plenty of alternatives.”
Monday and Tuesday included no events due to the University’s fall break, but five days of events are scheduled from October 12th through the 16th.
The first episode will air at 8 p.m. Thursday, October 6th. The program will showcase various aspects of Texas Tech and related institutions, as well as Tech’s efforts to achieve Tier One status.
The grant is part of a Hispanic Serving Institutions – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math funding program. Less than 2 percent of the nation’s architects are Hispanic.

A search committee will be named to find the Rawls College of Business dean, that will include representation from the Texas Tech Board of Regents, as well as faculty and alumni from the Rawls College of Business advisory council.
