Governor Rick Perry today encouraged Texas employers to hire military veterans. Perry was in El Paso today meeting with military personnel at Fort Bliss, and thanked them for their selfless service to protect freedom around the world.
Perry has called for a four-year tuition freeze for incoming freshmen, funding state institutions based on outcomes, and increasing fiscal transparency for students and their families.
“There is no such thing as ‘extra’ money when it’s coming out of the pockets of taxpayers,” said Perry.
In 2012’s graduating class, 58 percent of public school seniors took the SAT, a 5.7 percent increase in participation from the class of 2011, according to a press release.
