LP&L completed repairs to the Wadsworth Substation today
Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson addressed local media Wednesday on the situation with the Wadsworth Substation and the power outages on Saturday and Monday.

According to the City, Lubbock Power and Light found another bad arrestor, which caused Saturday morning’s blackout, and was in the process of shifting electrical loads when a power surge occurred.

District 1 Lubbock City Councilman Victor Hernandez this morning released a wide-ranging statement that states why he is in favor of increasing electrical rates for Lubbock Power and Light customers.
For the average home using 1,000 kilowatt-hours, the full proposed increase would have added $6.94 as of July 1st, and another increase of $2.51 as of October 1st.
