Upon further investigation, officers realized that the suspect was still in the home in the 2000 block of East 15th Street, and called in the K-9 unit.
Officers found the victim, 24-year-old Joseph Pete Castner, in front of Kong’s Bar at 17th Street and Texas Avenue. Castner had suffered gunshot wounds to the leg and one to the shoulder.

According to Lubbock Police, when Officer Daniel Merritt arrived at the 3300 block of Duke Street on Friday afternoon, 33-year-old Daniel Moreno reportedly raised a gun and aimed it at Merritt.
