On Monday, August 25, police responded to calls of a domestic dispute at a house on the 2800 block of Cornell after a series of events 51-year-old Guadalupe Esquivel was shot and killed by police.
Noel Serrano and Mayra Caraveo have been arrested for the murder of Fabian Rios on the night of July 30, 2014. Rios was fatally shot in the 2000 block of 89th Street in Lubbock.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, Detective Bryan DuBois responded to a burglary-in-progress call in the 4100 block of 109th Street. DuBois pulled over a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood and discovered the driver had an outstanding warrant and had many stolen items in the vehicle. Jose Manuel Calderon, 19, was arrested and booked into the Lubbock County Jail.
Fabian Rios, 18, was found shot on Wednesday, July 30, at approximately 12:45 a.m. in the 2000 block of 89th Street in Lubbock. At the time of his death, Rios was wanted on an aggravated robbery charge in Big Spring.
On Tuesday, July 29, at approximately 11:45 p.m. Lubbock Police officers responded to reports of a robbery at the Whataburger restaurant located at 2412 9th Street.
