Lubbock City Council members passed the second reading of amendments to the Oil and Gas ordinance that will create an oil and gas advisory committee and increase well set back distance to 600-feet from 300, to the disappointment of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce.
Lubbock City Council members will meet with the public and city staff to discuss improvements to the new storm water fee system, implemented in January 2015, before convening in a work session next month with new recommendations.
The Lubbock City Council voted to amend the oil and gas drilling ordinance this week at their regularly scheduled meeting which will establish an Oil and Gas Advisory Committee and increase setback for oil wells among other changes.
