On the Monday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, GOP strategist and co-founder on MustReadTexas.com Matt Mackowiak talked with Chad Hasty about the latest statewide and national issues.

Ted Cruz has now officially replaced Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, who began in the U.S. Senate in 1993.

Hutchison was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1993, and has also served as a member of the Texas House of Representatives and as Texas State Treasurer.

Data from the VA shows that the overall number of backlogged veterans’ claims nationwide has more than doubled in the last two years.

Boyd is currently the chief of staff for the Governor’s Office, where he previously served as general counsel.

Cornyn said "Core Texas values like hard work, limited government, and individual liberty will continue to guide me in this new role. I look forward to working with the Conference to tackle the major hurdles before us, beginning with the looming fiscal cliff.”

Cornyn pointed out that the disability-claims backlog is quite high in Texas, since it is home to more veterans than any state except California.
