The office of Lubbock City Secretary Becky Garza declared the petition to recall District 2 Councilman Floyd Price invalid because affidavits required by the City of Lubbock Charter were not filed with the petition.

According to the City Secretary’s office, Harris must obtain 509 signatures from District 2 voters by July 15th in order to trigger a recall election against Price.

The ordinance would ban the sale, public display, possession, or use of the drugs.;
Only one person showed up to discuss the issue at citizen comments, and he spoke in support of legalizing drugs.
“Those are packages of poison, and they’re sold to your children, and my children, and every child here. They’re sold at smoke shops around town,” said Gina Johnson.
Citizens will have the opportunity to visit with Price and provide comments, and all members of the public are invited to attend.
