The George H.W. Bush Distinguished Alumnus Award will be awarded to collegiate baseball players who have gone on to distinguish themselves off of the playing field.

Before serving as the 41st President of the United States, Bush played baseball at Yale University. Bush, a first baseman and team captain, played in the first two College World Series in 1947 and 1948.

The group's goal is to have a permanent facility and an adjoining baseball field.

The award will be presented as part of the College Baseball Night of Champions on June 30th in Lubbock.
