Thursday on Sunrise LBK with Dave King and Tom Collins, The Car Pro Jerry Reynolds joined Dave and Tom to talk about his test drive of the week, how to avoid buying a previously flooded car after Hurricane Ida, as well as other auto industry news...

"Very nice truck, actually. I am impressed with the value of this truck," Jerry said.

"This thing is really a performer. It's so quiet, you know. People, if they haven't looked at diesel in a while, and they still have that mindset of they're slow, they're loud, they smoke, you know? Those days are gone. I mean, you'd never know this truck was a diesel from the inside or the outside," Jerry said.

The XT5 drives well, has 310 horses, gets good gas mileage on the highway, and has lots of cargo room in the back. The only thing Jerry does not like is the mandatory start-stop system. "If there's anything about this thing that I do not like, it is the fact that it's got the start-stop system, and you cannot disable it, and so you're stuck with it. And boy I'll tell you what, it really gets annoying," Jerry explained, going on to say, "For me, as much as I like this thing, that would be a deal killer." Seeing as the 2017 model had a start-stop system that could be manually disabled, Jerry recommends a used 2017 model for anyone who has concerns.

"When I saw all new I mean it is all new. They took this truck and completely redid it from the ground up. And I've got to tell you, it's a pretty sweet truck," Reynolds explained.

"This is a big truck I don't mind telling you. It could not be a daily driver for me. You notice it when you go to park and when you go to make a U-turn or when you make a tight turn. But there's a lot of people towing and hauling things that have to have a truck this kind of capacity," Jerry explained.
