Buffalo Springs Lake

Buffalo Springs is a village in Lubbock County that exists along the shores of Buffalo Springs Lake. It has a small population of around 453 residents and is a part of the Lubbock Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village is based around the lake and is a common spot for Lubbckites to visit.

The lake was established as a recreational area in 1957. It was developed to provide Lubbock residents with a place for swimming, camping, fishing, hiking, and more. It is a common spot for locals to spend the weekends and float along the lake.

Buffalo Springs is served by the Roosevelt Independent School District and is home to around 143 families. It is only a 20-minute drive from Lubbock and has a total area of 1.9 square miles. 20.73% of that area is made up of the lake.
