A Canyon jury this evening found the owners of Floydada-based AlphaTex Kennels not guilty on animal cruelty charges. The jury needed a half-hour to deliberate after the closing arguments were made by attorneys.

The West Texas Humane Society was granted legal custody of over 200 dogs Thursday by a Floyd County Judge in the wake of a controversial trial involving Lockney-based Alpha-Tex Kennels.
