Dwight McDonald, an attorney, works part time as a magistrate for the City’s Municipal Court, which the Council and City Attorney Sam Medina hold is a violation of the City Charter, which bars those employed by the City from being on the EUB.
Kring mentioned that recently, a Lubbock Power and Light vehicle had been hit by gunfire with the employee inside. Kring warned that negative rhetoric against the utility can lead to those grave consequences.
This means that the owners of a $100,000 home will pay $12.30 more in property taxes to the City of Lubbock over last year.
A local blogger has stirred some controversy regarding five Lubbock City Council members attending a Texas Tech football game in the box of Chancellor Kent Hance.
Overall, 15 people addressed the Council about LP&L’s rates.
