The Council unanimously approved the purchase of traffic video detection equipment for the Marsha Sharp Freeway project and extending the 34th Street Reconstruction project west until the money runs out.
Riders will be given a postcard with information about the businesses offering any special deals during the event. The City anticipates up to 500 riders will take part in the Orange Cone Kick-Off.
“Hopefully over the next several months if the council agrees to it, we can continue the project far as far west with the existing money.”

The Lubbock City Council has awarded the paving contract for the 34th Street project, now allowing it to continue.
“It going to be tough, but all businesses will remain open,” Beane said.
