The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission released the statistics of a statewide undercover operation carried out during Spring Break Season.

According to the TABC, retailers were tested in a sting operation looking to identify and prevent alcohol sales to minors. During the operation, underage volunteers attempted to purchase alcohol at TABC-licensed businesses across the state.

Per the results of the operation, the TABC reported 92 percent of alcohol retailers were successful in preventing the sale to minors.

Of the 1,488 TABC-licensed businesses tested in the sting operation, 116 were cited for possible violations of the Alcoholic Beverage Code.

Locations that sold to minors are subject to administrative action by the TABC and employees who made the sale could face further charges.
