SWAT Team Summoned in Early Morning Domestic Dispute

Lubbock police were engaged in an-hour long standoff with an armed woman in a house in the 4600 block of Avenue L early today. A SWAT team was summoned to the scene around 3:30 a.m. to deal with a reported domestic dispute.
KAMC-28 reports that 47-year-old Loretta Cooper and her sister were fighting when Cooper pulled out a gun. The sister locked herself in a room for protection and called the police. After about an hour of negotiations, police managed to talk Cooper into surrendering peacefully. She was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping.
