According to a statement released by South Plains College, the college has been notified by the Texas Department of State Health Services that a person associated with the Levelland campus has been diagnosed with a suspected case of tuberculosis.

College officials have notified those who may be at potential risk of exposure.  Those people have been encouraged to get a free tuberculosis test that will be offered to them in a notification letter.  According to the news release, if you have not been contacted, you do not need to be tested.  The news release also says a majority of the college community is not at risk of contracting the disease.
