“It’s just a more upbeat building.”

That’s Shawn Byrd, the shelter supervisor for animal services, talking about the one-year-old shelter where he works.

In an interview for KFYO’s  public service program, This Week in Lubbock, Byrd talks about the shelter and what makes it more upbeat:

“The new building to us is great compared to what used to have at the old shelter.  It’s got so many updated technologies, ventilation. drains, wash down systems, as well as natural light.  It’s got a lot of windows, which increase natural sunlight, which helps the animals, their health and I think their   happiness, as well as the shelter staff.”
