The Texas Tech Health Sciences Center now has a new Graduate School dean.

TTUHSC President Tedd L. Mitchell Tuesday announced the appointment of Douglas Stocco, Ph.D. as dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

Stocco currently serves as executive vice president for research at the Health Sciences Center. He began his career at Texas Tech in 1974 when he joined the Department of Cell Biology and Biochemistry.

In a press release, Mitchell lauded Stocco, saying “We have seen his excellent leadership and dedication to academics. Without question, he will serve the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences well with his commitment to our students and research.”
