Steven Orr Names Estacado vs. Shallowater & Idalou vs. Denver City As High School Football Games of The Week [AUDIO]
On the Thursday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Steven Orr from the “West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard” show talked with Chad Hasty about his picks for the big games in high school football this week.
With district play officially kicking off across the area, last week saw some tight games and some major upsets, and Orr said this week looks to be just as exciting. One game to watch for this week will be Lubbock High vs. Hereford. Orr said that both teams have had a rough season, and Hereford has yet to win a game this season. However, while he is giving the edge to Lubbock High for this game, he said Hereford could be due for a win, especially if Lubbock High continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Another game to look out for is Lubbock Cooper vs. Seminole, which Orr predicts will be another victory for the Cooper Pirates.
For Week 7, Orr picked two match-ups for his games of the week. The first pick is Estacado vs. Shallowater. Orr explained that this has been a long awaited match-up this season, and while Estacado can definitely bring the speed, there hasn’t been a tea yet that can stop Shallowater and their undefeated season. Orr’s second pick is Idalou vs. Denver City, explaining that both teams have fighting hard and that this match-up could very well be a preview of what to expect in the district playoff.
