Steven Orr From West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard Show Picks Cooper vs. Snyder As Game of the Week [AUDIO]
On the Thursday edition of the Chad Hasty Show, Steven Orr from the “West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard” show talked with Chad Hasty about his picks for the big games in high school football this week.
Orr said that this week, one of the big games to watch will be Seminole vs. Idalou. Idalou comes off of a tight, one-point win against Lubbock Cooper last week, and Orr predicts the team will be riding that winning momentum into the next game. But, he also added that Seminole has a very strong defense, and might be able to slow them down.
Another game to watch this week will be Lubbock High vs. Coronado. Coronado is coming off of a big win against Monterrey last week, while Lubbock High will be trying to rebound after losing to Canyon. Orr is giving Coronado the slight advantage in this match, but also pointed out that Coronado has a pretty small pool of returning varsity players when compared to Lubbock High, and the game could go either way.
For Week 1, Orr selected Lubbock Cooper vs. Snyder as his game of the week. Orr explained that both teams are coming off of some disappointing seasons last year, both lost by a single point last week, and both teams have strong offenses. With all those factors, Orr believes it this match-up should be a “dandy of a game.” Other games to watch this week include Shallowater vs. Littlefield and New Deal vs. Tulia.
