Steve Burns with LSG Tactical Arms joined Tom Collins and Laura Mac on Lubbock's First News today to discuss the current gun control debate in the aftermath of last week's school shooting.

Laura Mac asked Burns if controlling guns can prevent future shootings.  "Well lots of folks are really trying to restrict everyone's (gun) ownership as a feelgood measure," said Burns. "They don't like certain types of guns because they consider them ugly or not useful for the purposes they might use them for. Most of it doesn't really make logical sense."

Burns also mentioned that the term "assault rifle" has been used by anti-gun advocates to demonize gun owners and the firearms industry. Many current firearms still require a pull of the trigger to fire each bullet.
