State Fair of Texas Food, Obama and the Republican Debate, and More in Chad’s Steaming Pile

1. Who is ready for some deep fried goodness? (link)

The South Plains Fair has some good food. However, when it comes to good and interesting no one can beat the State Fair of Texas. Every year the Big Tex Choice Awards are handed out and this year there are some interesting candidates. In 2010, Fried Beer and Texas Fried FRITOS Pie took the top spot. Here are this years entries:

2. Republicans Obama can wait (link)

President Obama tried to steal the thunder away from the GOP debate next week, but it looks like it might be the Republicans with the last laugh.

First, Obama ambushed the GOP by upstaging the party’s presidential debate with a major address. Then Republicans returned fire by trying to push it back to the 8th. Then the name-calling started. Finally, late Wednesday, Obama agreed to change the day — even if it means backtracking and bumping against the NFL’s Thursday night opener.

3. Technology stuff (link)

Interesting article in the world of technology. The above site listed 5 pieces of technology that will help the government and others in the future. The list includes motion control, like the Wii and XBOX Kinect. Right now, it's used to play video games, but in the future doctors could use the same technology in hospitals. Cool stuff.
