According to the Houston Chronicle, San Antonio Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich sounded off on Donald Trump and race relations during the team's media day.

During Popovich's press conference, he didn't shy away from criticism of the President or of our nation. According to the Chronicle, Popovich said "our country is an embarrassment to the world."

Popovich's comments on America being an embarrassment came after talking about NASCAR owner Richard Petty's comments on those who protest during the national anthem and that they can leave the country.

Popovich also said that the country needed to have discussions on race and that "people have to be made to feel uncomfortable." The Spurs head coach also discussed white privilege and said it was "disgusting" that President Trump rescinded his invitation to the Golden State Warriors to visit the White House.

Popovich discussed the issue of white privilege in the video below.
