A spokesman for Governor Rick Perry is saying the Texas Governor will announce his run for president this Saturday. Spoksman Mark Minder told the Associated press this after Perry was in San Antonio yesterday taking his anti-Washington message to a national conference of state lawmakers. Perry will be visiting three early voting states this weekend and is expected to announce his future plans during that time.

Perry has been flirting with a presidential run since the end of the legislative session. There has been pressure from many sides for the seasoned Texas governor to run. Although he hasn't even thrown in a bid for the race, he's getting more media coverage than some candidates who have been running for months. Controversial discussions about Perry's policies have already begun.

He's expected to make the announcement in South Carolina, two days after a debate in Iowa and the same day rivals will participate in a test vote in the leadoff caucus state.
