An area college will offer a home firearm safety class in early March.

South Plains College will offer the NRA Home Firearm Safety class on Sunday, March 9th in Room 115 of the Law Enforcement Technology Building.

It is a four hour course for safe gun handling that is only held in the classroom. Students will learn the NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling, primary causes of firearms accidents, and more.

The cost of the course is $45, and students will need to register and pay in advance. The class will begin at 1 p.m. with breaks every hour.

Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, gun safety rules brochure, and more.
