South Plains College has announced the winner of a prestigious award at their institution.

Victoria VanZandt has been selected as the 2012 President’s Student of the Year at South Plains College.

The President’s Student of the Year is given to honor a sophomore student who “exemplifies excellence in academics, socially, and has contributed most to the SPC campus environment,” according to a press release.

VanZandt is a SPC cheerleader, campus ambassador, student orientation leader, STAR Center tutor, and Miss Caprock 2011.

She plans to attend Texas Tech to complete her Animal Science Degree, and then go to Texas A&M Veterinary School.
