Some Downtown Lubbock Streets to Close For Hub City BBQ Cook-Off

Some streets in downtown Lubbock will close next week for an annual event.

Beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday, September 25^th, these downtown streets will close for the 12^th annual Hub City BBQ Cook-Off.

The streets that will close for the cook-off include:

• Broadway from Avenue O to Avenue J
• Ave. K between 13^th and Main Street
• Ave. L between 13^th and Main Street
• Ave. M between 13^th and Main Street
• Avenue N between Broadway and Main Street

The streets will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday, September 27^th. Travelers who frequent this area are urged to take alternate routes on Wednesday and Thursday.

The event will be held on Thursday, September 26^th from 5 to 8 p.m.

Entry gates will be at Broadway and Avenue O, Broadway east of Avenue J, and Main and Avenue L.

More than 115 teams will compete for the bragging rights to the best BBQ in the area.

Advance ticket prices through 5 p.m. on September 25^th are $25 for adults, $10 for children ages six to 10, and no charge for children age five and under. Gate prices will climb to $30 for adults. Tickets are available from the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce at 1500 Broadway, Suite 101 or from all Select-a-Seat outlets.
