Six North Texas Residents Charged in Drug Trafficking Mail Scheme

Some north Texas and U.S. Virgin Islands residents are in police custody for an alleged involvement in mailing marijuana from Arlington to St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.

According to the complaints filed, 35-year-old Nick Neil Rene is believed to have been the primary participant in a drug trafficking organization that sent multiple parcels containing large amounts of marijuana from Arlington to areas in St. Croix since at least November 2009.

The group is believed to have sent more than 120 Express Mail packages from at least five different post office stations in Arlington. Authorities say the packages weighed an average of 12 pounds per parcel.

The group reportedly collected from April 27^th, 2010 to the present is more than $385,000.

Rene, 44-year-old Sylvia Francisca Granville, and 47-year-old Carl Gayheart Schou of Fort Worth have been charged with intent to distribute, and intent to distribute 100 kilograms or more of marijuana.

47-year-old Eddie House, 28-year-old Tanisha Jernae Williams of Fort Worth, and 42-year-old Laura Louise Ryan-Rene of Duncanville have been charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering.

The maximum statutory sentence for the drug charges is not less than five or more than 40 years in prison, and the maximum statutory penalty for conspiracy to commit money laundering is 20 years in prison, all with substantial fines.
