The Silent Wings Museum has opened a new, limited-run, exhibit. ‘The Helicopter from WWII to the Vietnam War’ was produced by the Vietnam Center and Archive at Texas Tech.

The exhibit traces the first uses of the helicopter in combat at Burma in 1945 to the iconic UH-1 Huey in Vietnam.  The exhibit also includes enhanced content for smartphones and tablets, including films, audio recordings and documents.

‘The Helicopter from WWII to the Vietnam War’ will be on display through September 2. This exhibit is part of the "Celebrating Our Heroes" summer exhibition.

The Silent Wings Museum is located on I-27 in north Lubbock, west of Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.
