Governor Rick Perry has been making news on the non-campaign, campaign trail and it's not because of the economy.

A few weeks ago, Governor Perry was in Colorado when he said that he was fine with the State of New York allowing gay marriage. His comments made social and religious conservatives unhappy so no he is clarifying what he meant.

Perry still believes that states should be able to do what New York did, but Perry himself isn't for gay marriage. According to the USA Today:

"Yes sir, I would. I am for the federal marriage amendment," Perry told the AP in a telephone interview Saturday. "And that's about as sharp a point as I could put on it."

Do you agree with Governor Rick Perry? Should Republicans even be talking about this issue? Let us know your thoughts on the blog and on the LFN Poll of the Day.
