Twenty Texas cities have passed ordinances placing local regulations on payday lenders. In Midland, city officials are looking at passing restrictions on lenders but also weighing the risk. Out of six cities that have passed ordinances like Midland, five are currently being sued.

In Lubbock, Councilman Todd Klein has been pushing for a task force to be formed in order to take a look at reforms that could be made. Klein has stated in the past that he believes it’s his responsibility to help look out for people’s finances.

Do you think Lubbock should pass restrictions on payday loan businesses? Let us know in today’s KFYO Poll of the Day.
