Should the City of Lubbock Close the Health Department? [POLL]
Budget season is under way here in Lubbock and one major department looks to be on the chopping block. It has come out that the City of Lubbock plans on closing the Lubbock Health Department. The Mayor has said on KFYO and other media outlets that the cuts in funding have lead to this possible decision. The Mayor believes that other outlets in the city, such as the Larry Combest Center, will be able to provide the same services as the Health Department.
Mayor Martin also says that because of anticipated cuts by the state, the city can’t afford to pick up the slack.
What are your thoughts? Should the Lubbock Health Department be closed?
