As we saw yesterday, and Lubbock knows all too well, tornados can happen anytime and anywhere. Being from the Dallas area, I grew up with tornado sirens and knew that when they went off it was time to seek shelter. In numerous videos from yesterday tornado sirens can be heard going off. Sirens have been credited in the past for saving lives and you can imagine lives were saved yesterday in DFW because of the sirens.

Lubbock has no tornado sirens and members of the City Council have generally been against them because of cost and a belief that they aren't needed. What do you think? Should Lubbock invest in tornado sirens?
