Today at 3pm, Lubbock Power and Light will present their recommendations on a potential rate increase to the Electric Utility Board. Back in September the City Council decided not to pass the recommendation at that time to raise rates by 8.2 percent. Instead, the council formed a committee to review potential rate increases. LP&L wants to raise rates because Excel raised rates. Some say not raising rates now could mean an even larger increase in the future. Other's say that LP&L is doing well financially, and there is no need to raise rates and hurt people's bank accounts.

What do you think? Should Lubbock raise LP&L electric rates?
