Residents in Littlefield got together on Tuesday night to debate whether or not the empty prison in that city should house illegal immigrant minors. City Manager Mike Arismendez has said that the city has talked to ICE for two years now about using the facility. Last night it was said that the prison, if used to house the immigrants, could hold at least 600 people. While some residents embraced the idea, many others rejected the idea of housing illegal immigrants. Arismendez said one of the benefits of the city housing immigrants would be money the city would get from the federal government.
