Should It be Illegal for a Member of Congress to Lie to Us?

If you or I lied to Congress while under oath, we would be in hot water.  Should the same standard apply if a member of Congress lies to us?  On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Rep. Randy Neugebauer  was asked that question.

Q: Should it be illegal for Congress to lie to the people?  What do you think about that?

“That’s exactly right,” Neugebauer said.  “We always ought to hold our self to the same standard we hold everyone else to.”
