Police responded to calls of ‘shots fired’ at the Copper Caboose in the 5600 block of South Q Drive at 1:15am.

A suspect had been involved in an altercation inside of the bar before going out to his vehicle to retrieve a handgun.  The suspect then fired a number of shots at a crowd in the parking lot.  One person was shot and taken to Covenant Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

After a brief investigation, police arrested 21 year-old Adrian Vicente Castillo and charging him with Aggravated Assault, Tampering with Evidence, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and a Parole Violation. Bond has been set at $100,000.

Alcohol was also reported by police to be a potential contributing factor in the assault and Castillo is currently being held in the Lubbock County Jail.
