A sheriff’s deputy was fired Friday for her alleged involvement in a deadly fight outside a Houston Denny’s restaurant in May.

KAMC News reports, on May 28th, a violent altercation in a parking lot of a Denny’s resulted in the death of 24 year-old John Hernandez. As a result, Deputy Chauna Thompson has been terminated.

Four other unnamed employees received disciplinary action for their involvement in the investigation.

A Harris County grand jury indicted the deputy and her husband, Terry Thompson, on murder charges.
