Severe weather is expected for the South Plains and Texas Panhandle on Thursday, May 23rd.

The National Weather Service in Lubbock is forecasting thunderstorms with hail and damaging winds are forecast for the region with a slight risk of tornadoes with the storms.

The area with the greatest risk of storms will be Northwest of Lubbock, but storms are predicted for the Lubbock metro area in the late afternoon into the evening hours.
