Saturday evening had an unexpected turn of events, as far as the weather was concerned, in Bailey and Lamb counties.

A Severe Thunderstorm stalled over central and eastern Bailey County for over a hour-and-a-half dumping large amounts of rain. Parts of Bailey County have received over 1"-2" of rainfall and localized flooding has occured. The Texas Tech Mesonet site in Muleshoe received 0.3" of an inch of rain from 7p-8p, with over 1.06" of total rainfall for June 2. Also, a 45mph gust of wind was recorded at 6:45p.

To the north in Deaf Smith County, Hereford has received over 0.65" inch of rain through 8pm.
