Senator Robert Duncan Appointed Chairman of State Affiars
State Senator Robert Duncan has been reappointed by Lt. Governor David Dewhurst to be Chairman of the Senate Committee on State Affairs. The Lubbock Republican was chairman of the committee last legislative session.
Other notable appointments by Dewhurst are Republican Senator Kel Seliger of Amarillo to be chairman of the Senate Committee of Higher Education. Republican Senator Craig Estes of Wichita Falls is appointed chairman on the committee of Agriculture, Rural Affairs and Homeland Security.
Dewhurst made the appointments to match the member's specific talents to their committees to allow more time to focus on conservative solutions.
Dewhurst said in press release,
"This upcoming Session will be difficult. As a lifelong businessman, I have constantly tried to challenge my colleagues and myself through new leadership opportunities and rotating assignments that require fresh conservative thinking and conservative solutions."
